I don't know personally either participant of the conflict. ash_rabbi's LJ blog appears to be anarchist, but that's not enough to tell if he's really anarchist or provokateur. For that, we need a recommendation from people that know him.

IMHO both sides made mistakes. The hidden posts do look like they were copied from islamic separatists' site, there was a reason to hide them as they directly or indirectly promote violence and nationalism that isn't suitable for Indymedia. Missing references to sources is also a problem. But moderators of IMC Piter should have provided a working link to their guidelines (the current link returns "Page not found"), and should've explained what's wrong with the posts, not hide them without any comment.

My opinion on idea of Indymedia Caucasus: it would be really great, but it is vital that the collective would represent a wide subset of local points of view, I don't see that in goren's request.
