In the morning Septermber 8, 2010 two more of our friends — Tatiana Seminischeva and Vladimir Volodin were detained and placed to the Okrestino temporary detention facility. Tatiana is suspected in complicity in the accident near the Russian Embassy, Vladimir — in the arson of the door of the Belarusbank branch bank on May 1, 2010.
As seven those arrested earlier, these young people are public activists.
Vladimir Volodin participates in the antinuclear campaign, promoting alternative energy; he is a member of the Green Party and a co-authour of the EIA (environment impact assessment) critics concerning the Ostroveckaya nuclear power plant. Tatiana Seminischeva takes part in the Food Not Bombs actions where the activists help the needy and homeless with food and clothes. Occasionally they also volunteer in the shelters for homeless animals. We all know Tania as a person of ready sympathy, kind and always ready to help. During the interrogation Tania demonstratively cut her wrists by an office knife. Though we don't know all the details of this deed it was obviously done because of maltreatment from the police officers. After the first aid the interrogation continued.
At present Tania and Volodia are in the Okrestino temporary detention facility. According to some reports, they will be kept there for at least 3 days.
But the repressions against activists go beyond Minsk: in Saligorsk and Homiel the public activists are also taken to interrogations. So far there is no exact information concerning the number of the interrogated people and their further fate.
The detention of the ecologist Vladimir Volodin and Tatiana Seninischeva who was involved in humanitarian and charitable activities reveals a panic tensity in the work of the investigation. They grab whoever and accuse of whatever. Another evidence of this are the arrests on September, 8 (on the same standart suspicions) of Igor Chapyga from the Right Alliance and Sergey Popov from the Liberty Party — the participants of the ultraright organizations whose opinions and priniciples are precisely the opposite of anarchist ones.
The accusations against seven activists detained on September, 3 on suspicion of the attack on the Embassy are still not lodged, and according to some information the investigatory powers have switched over to drawing up statements concerning their complicity in other vague episodes.
