In the protest actions against the summit of "big eight" taking place in Saint Petersburg, Belorussian activists from the movement for people self-guidance and the Belorussian social movement to "times!" participated. 10 July: participants from Belarus' went to Moscow, where Libertarian forum took place. On 13 July in the evening they left for Saint-Petersburg on the bus together with Russian human rights activists for participation in the permitted by authorities Russian social forum (or "dissent-summit"), which was conducted on the stadium Kirov (yebenya rare, all around forest). Journey from Moscow into the northern capital of Russia in many respects resembled native Belarus. At all posts DPS the bus was stopped by armed automata paramilitary policemen for the "explanation of personality" and the examination of the personal effects of the passengers. Each stoppage lasted somewhere around one hour. However, nevertheless it was possible to reach Saint Petersburg. On arrival into the city in the Neva in the daytime on 14 July, it became known that in the whole of Russia "preventive" repression, detentions and arrests of the activists of the left-wing organizations took place against those going to Saint Petersburg. Judging according to the descriptions of the circumstances of "cleaning up the antiglobalists", the impression is created, that the experience of associates from Belarus was used as the model for the Russian "law-enforcement" organisations. The same fictitious charges of small hooliganism: "unquotable swearing" and the like, even blocking of participants in the forum by something [otdalenno] resembled the "tent camp" of March 2006. Very much it looks as if in the plan of offensive for civil liberties and freedoms, Putin Russia drifts in the same direction as the Lukashenko regime. Belorussian activists participated in two mass street actions and distributed the leaflet with the title "Belorussian truth", in which they expressed their position apropos of the summit of the "big eight" and theoretical discussion in it of the "Belorussian question". In the leaflet, there was insistence on the need for opposition to both the bureaucratic dictatorship and to international dictates of imperialistic powers and capital, both "transnational" and "national".

In passing in Saint Petersburg the summit of "large eight" in the number of other problems "world bosses", that accustomed to solve the fates of peoples behind their backs, will discuss a "Belorussian question". The discussion will deal with the problem Lukashenko. But Belorussian people do not need the intercession of the leaders of imperialistic powers! Neoliberal model is false alternative to the autocracy of the Belorussian President Lukashenko, who in actuality guides only because of the support of neoliberal Putin regime. Belorussian authorities, under the cover of the crackling social and "anti-imperialist" demagogy, unsurpassed master of which is itself Lukashenko, have already long ago carried out into the life many "reforms" from those, which globalisation institutes propose to the poor countries. While the bureaucratic state "introduces order" and increasingly more strongly it turns crazy in the region of civil liberties and freedoms, raises defense expenditure, the same state increasingly more frees itself and tenants from the social obligations: - in the country are actually destroyed all independent from the authority trade unions, up to the fact that even the conservative international organization of labor raises the question about the removal of Belarus from its membership; - since 1999 Belorussian workers one and all forcedly are transferred into the urgent contracts (on the average, 1-3 years), undergoing constant threats by firing; - swiftly commercial education system, which already led to the situation, when more than half of Belorussian students they are trained on the paid basis; - on the prescription of the World Bank are liquidated social privileges and subsidies to population, including Chernobyl; - without the wide discussion is prepared the legislative base for the future bureaucratic privatization of the most important Belorussian enterprises. Regime Lukashenko - this actually not than the unconfined authority of one bureaucratic clan, which deprived of all working rights in the interests of large industrial directorate and its parasitic enrichment. NO - to dictatorship Lukashenko! NO - to the dictates of national and transnational capital in Belarus', in Russia, in entire peace! Another peace is possible! Movement for the people self-guidance (Belarus'), Belorussian social movement to "times!"
