Don’t ruin Hrodna! On 27 April actions were carried out in Hrodna against the arbitrariness of local authorities with respect to the city. On the old bridge that connects 2 city districts, a banner “don’t ruin Hrodna!” was placed. No longer will this ancient city be pitilessly destroyed: houses are removed, trees are cut down, the earth is sold to foreign investors. The architectural sights of the city will soon remain only in the history books. To silently accept this will achieve nothing. To await the results of countless negotiations from the politicians, the historians, the engineers, there is no sense, and the main problem is time. It is necessary to solve the basic problem – the indifference of the inhabitants of city to vandalism proceeding before their eyes. It will not be sufficient to await what someone will say to you about what to do. There will not be leaders and coordinators! It will be sufficient to be agitated by the situation in the network. In the Internet people already know about this problem. Go to the streets! Hang banners! Give out leaflets! Talk with the neighbours, colleagues, friends! Show your dissatisfaction! The old city is necessary for us! ...even if not much remains of it…
