Statement concerning the illegal detention of Nicolaj Dedok

Today, September 24, the 7th custody term of our friend Nicolaj Dedok runs out. 
 
 
It is already his 21st day at the Okrestino temporary detention center where he is being kept without any accusations brought against him. Every three days he is being re-arrested on the ground of new cases that have no connection with anarchists. Last time he was arrested on the article 339 (hooliganism) but without any case which is a glaring case of lawlessness even for Belarus. 
 
 
We know they want to accuse him in the organization of an unauthorized action against the Zapad-2009 combined Russian-Belarussian exercise last September, during which somebody threw a smoke pellet on the territory of the Ministry of Defense of the RB. 
 
 
According to our data, during last 2 weeks more than 30 people were called in for questioning to the GUBOP (Main division of fight against organized crime) the KGB with regard to this case. They were demanded to testify it was Nicolaj Dedok who organized that action, invited people to the action, gave masks to the participants, was in the head of the column. Moral pressure was exerted on some people. The GUBOP agents alleged that if they won't give any evidence then they will become a copather of this crime, threatened with sexual violence from other detainees, inclusion to the list of travel banned and problems at their parents' work. Last days people who were involved in informational support of the detainees, like Alexander Jaroshevich, Elena Dubovik and Anna Chernysheva were arrested as well. 
 
 
Thus, we see the police has no evidence of Dedok's guilty and they try to get them by whatever means, with that trying to face down another activists who do social work. 
 
 
We demand to stop pressure on the social activists and to release Nicolaj Dedok.
