Minsk is UTC+2 timezone. UTC+3 is Moscow.
i think you forgot daylight saving time: IMHO this week Mińsk is UTC+3; next week ( NOT daylight saving time) Mińsk will be UTC+2.
timeanddate.com : says:
Current time Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 8:41:40 PM EEST
UTC/GMT Offset
Standard time zone: UTC/GMT +2 hours
Daylight saving time: +1 hour
Current time zone offset: UTC/GMT +3 hours
Time zone abbreviation: EEST - Eastern European Summer Time
Daylight Saving Time DST started on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 2:00 AM local standard time
DST ends on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 3:00 AM local daylight time
Now in Poland (UTC+2 = summer daylight savings time) it is 19:40. timeanddate says that Minsk is 20:40.
EEST – Eastern European Summer Time
Time zone offset: UTC + 3 hours EEST is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
Note that EEST is a daylight saving time/summer time zone. It is generally only used during the summer in the places listed below, during the winter EET is used instead
EEST is used during summer only in these European countries (EET during winter) * Belarus, ...
Timezone: Europe/Minsk Date&time: Wed, 25 Oct 2006 20:40:50 +0300 (EEST)
Standard time zone: UTC/GMT +3 hours Daylight saving time: +1 hour Current time zone offset: UTC/GMT +4 hours
So Moscow is UTC+3 (normal = winter), or UTC+4 (daylight savings = summer).
Maybe Mr Ł. cancelled daylight savings time in Belarus and he forgot to tell international time authorities? ;)
Anyway, hope to chat with you tomorrow if we can sort out the time :). i can’t see an English article from the Hungary people about yesterday’s happenings on their website – maybe tomorrow we could ask them about this…
