In less than 10 days following the election of homophobe Lech Kaczyński to the presidency of Poland, squats have been evicted in Białystok and Warsaw and an anarchist in Krakow has been arrested, probably for participation in a human rights demonstration against war criminal Vladimir Putin (Jan 2005).
Secret police detain Kurzyniec

On 31.10.2005 Marek Kurzyniec, member of the Anarchist Federation and many pro-freedom and social initiatives, was detained in Krakow. The detention was carried out by five secret police. They didn't give any reason for the detention.
The moment chosen for the detention was not chosen randomly - on that day and the following (1.11.2005), neither the courts nor the prosecutor had working days. Neither the lawyer nor the family of the detained was able to find a reason for the detention nor the duration for which Marek was being detained.
